previously wrote about what you can do to prepare yourself for the deluge of leaves that are
on the way this fall, but now it’s time to break out the rake and
get to work. We’ve put together another list for you to check in
order to tackle the foliage on your lawn:
Make sure you have good gardening gloves: Using a rake all afternoon can be rough on your hands, and having a good
pair of gloves can help protect you from blisters. You’ll also protect
yourself from getting too dirty when you have to reach down and grab a
pile of leaves with your hands – you never know what you’ll
find hiding under a pile of leaves that’s been on the ground for
a few days!
Wear a good pair of closed-toes shoes: A good pair of work boots are ideal, but as long as you have on a good
pair of closed-toed shoes you don’t mind getting dirty and maybe
even a bit wet you should be fine.
Cover your arms and legs: Wearing good pants and long sleeves will help protect your arms and legs
from any creatures that may be hiding in the leaves on your lawn. Anything
from insects to rodents to snakes could be lurking just out of sight!
Get a mask: This is especially important if you have allergies or if you’re planning
on mulching the leaves you rake up, but wearing a good mask can help anyone’s
breathing during this yard work.
